| The year was 2014 and the Cosumnes Community Services District Giant Pumpkin Festival was gearing up to host another fun community event. What made this one different was the Pumpkin Pie Eating Contest! Major League Eaters came to town and the contestants devoured Sinful Treat’s Pumpkin Pies. Here I am with just one of the many racks of Pumpkin Pies.
 You can’t have a Pumpkin Pie Eating Contest without Eaters! The winner finished more than 20 lbs of Pumpkin Pie in just 8 minutes! Joey Chestnut, who (Spoiler Alert!) came in second behind Matt Stonie. Joey Chestnut made his name devouring more Nathan’s Hotdogs than any other contestant on July 4th, 2014, for the 8th year in a row. Matt Stonie took Joey’s “Crown” away the next year – winning the 2015 Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest! Other notable “Eaters” include Miki Sudo who holds the #1 Female Eater in the World title; she ate 48.5 Nathan’s Famous hot dogs and buns and beat the previous record of 45! Let’s not forget Mary Bowers, known for fashioning facinators in celebration of the day’s culinary discipline. She is a hotdog and sausage specialist, but also Poutine and gyozas! Yay to both female record holders! Did you know that our Pumpkin Pies set a World Record!?! Watch the video to see Joey Chestnut and Matt Stonie compete against other competitive Eaters!
